In the world of software development, tech debit is the extra work that accumulates when you cut corners or build it quickly – rather than correctly. Well this weekend I decided to pay down some of the workshop tech debt. Boring, strenuous, unsexy, tech debt – mostly focused around my table.
- Scraped the gunk off the table top (like old glue, spilled beer, and dried blood sweat and tears)
- Flattened with hand planes – whew, I can barely lift my arms today
- Stabilized the base with 2×4 stretchers and plywood cross braces
- Added a work vice
- Sand, seal and finish with danish oil and paste wax
